Ivor is under arrest, but he is not taken to jail as planned. He’ll have to decide how to deal with this particular annoyance. Aza and Quanzul give Ivor coordinates from an ancient tome to travel to a world unknown. A plague had decimated this once thriving world, eradicated mana, all things magical, and nearly every person. Instead of a finding a dead world, Ivor discovers a species of underground dwellers barely holding on.

Upon returning to Menevris with news of a new world, Ivor’s deeds garner the attention of the King of Unae, who enlists him in a quest to investigate the disappearance of some of the Unae citizens. Ivor’s investigation will take him far to the south of the country and into the wastelands that separate Unae from its southern neighbor, Qizut; a country ruled by a council of Mages.

He will be challenged by fools, encounter doomsday cultists, hunt monsters that drop fabulous loot, and fight an opponent that pushes him to his limits. None of that is going to stop Ivor Kemble from exploring new worlds, taking new risks, and acquiring new rewards.
